Dry and wet separation technology of manure

The technology of dry and wet separation of manure is an indispensable key technology for most layer farms that use water to wash feces at present. The dry-wet separator is mainly used for dry-wet separation of chicken manure. 

The excrement is pumped from the septic tank to the chicken manure separator by a special pump. Through the dry-wet separation process, dry feces can be effectively separated from most of the water and fine feces, so as to realize the separation of solid and liquid in manure. 

The solid and liquid are processed to produce liquid organic fertilizer and solid organic fertilizer respectively. Liquid organic fertilizer can be used for crop production near the farm. 

Solid organic fertilizer can be sold directly or transported to the organic fertilizer plant to produce organic compound fertilizer through drying, fermentation and other processing methods. 

Advantages of separation technology

At present, there are many problems in biogas projects constructed by using poultry manure, such as inadequate pretreatment, poor utilization of biogas slurry and secondary pollution. 

Therefore, before the feces and sewage flow into the sedimentation tank. Firstly, the chicken manure separator is used to separate the dry and wet chicken manure, which can effectively reduce the operating load of the biogas digester. 

Before entering the biogas digester, dry and wet separation can make the dry dung in the fresh dung into valuable organic fertilizer. The separated sewage intermittently enters the biogas digester. It can make the anaerobic tank have a full digestion time and a higher gas production. 

The dung water after dry and wet separation enters the biogas tank, which can effectively solve the problem of biogas tank crusting. Eliminating the work of cleaning up biogas residue can also reduce the construction investment of biogas digesters. 

After dry-wet separation, chicken dung can be dehydrated into dry dung with water content of about 45%. Without any other chemical ingredients, it can be processed into feed or directly used for the planting of vegetables, flowers and tea. 

It can also be processed into organic compound fertilizer. The dry manure after dry and wet separation is convenient to use, can be directly scattered by hand, and convenient for transportation. 

Waste water is fed into biogas digester or reused as liquid fertilizer. The dry and wet separation technology of chicken manure avoids the pollution of the environment by chicken manure, and excavates the economic value of chicken manure. It can achieve waste utilization, turn waste into treasure, circular economy and green environmental protection. 

Principle of dry and wet separation of manure

Chicken manure separator is an environmental protection equipment for dehydration of livestock and poultry excrement. It is composed of delivery pump, solid-liquid separation parts, frame, distribution box, connecting pipe, etc. During dry-wet separation, the special pump will lift the raw feces, water and dregs in the septic tank to the chicken manure separator at the same time. 

The dehydrated raw feces, water and dregs are pushed forward at a speed of 45 revolutions per minute through the extrusion screw placed in the screen.

The dry manure in the manure water are separated from most of the water and fine fecal residue. 

The dry material is separated from the solid material column formed at the machine mouth by mutual extrusion, and discharged from the front end of the dry and wet separator. 

The fecal water is filtered out through the screw press screen, flows away from the lower end of the solid liquid separator, and flows back into the regulating tank or is discharged into the sedimentation tank through a special pipeline. 

Procedures for dry and wet separation of manure

  • Collect chicken manure into the septic tank.
    For chicken farms equipped with automatic manure scraper, first scrape the chicken manure to the septic tank with the automatic manure scraper, and then wash the residual manure in the chicken house with appropriate amount of water into the septic tank. For chicken farms that directly flush chicken manure with water, directly flush chicken manure into the septic tank with appropriate amount of water.  
  • Dry and wet separation of manure in the septic tank.
    Start the chicken manure separator to dry and wet separate the manure sewage collected in the septic tank. Semi-dry chicken manure and fecal liquid were separated, and the water content of the separated manure residue was about 45%. The manure liquid is discharged from the fecal liquid outlet under the chicken manure separator, and the separated solid matter (fecal residue) is discharged from the front of the separator. 
  • Treatment and utilization of dry and wet manure.
    The manure can be directly transported to vegetable greenhouses, orchards and fields requiring fertilization through special pipelines. It can also be transported to the sedimentation tank or biogas tank through special pipelines for anaerobic fermentation to produce biogas. Biogas can be used as living fuel, such as lighting or cooking. Biogas residue and biogas slurry can be used for local irrigation of crops or sold to surrounding farmers. The separated semi-dry manure can be directly loaded and sold or transported to the organic fertilizer plant to produce compound organic fertilizer.
